What lip filler actually is

Lip filler uses hyaluronic-acid gel to add volume, shape, and hydration to the lips. Because it’s HA-based, a skilled injector can build gradually — and dissolve it if you don’t love the result. Natural-looking lips come down to technique and restraint, not just product.

A good fit if…

  • You want more volume, definition, or symmetry
  • You prefer a subtle, buildable result
  • You want something reversible

Maybe not for you if…

  • You have an active cold sore or lip infection
  • You’re pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You need zero swelling for an event tomorrow

Common questions

Will my lips look overdone?

They shouldn’t. A good injector starts conservative — often half to one syringe — and can add more later. Overfilling is a technique choice, not an inevitability.

How much does it hurt?

Most filler contains numbing agent and injectors add topical numbing too; expect pinches and pressure, plus a day or two of swelling.

Can it be undone?

Yes — HA filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you’re unhappy or there’s a complication, which is a real advantage of HA lips.
