What dermal filler actually is

Filler is a gel — usually hyaluronic acid, a sugar your body already makes — placed under the skin to restore lost volume in the cheeks, lips, or under-eyes and to soften folds. Because it’s HA-based, most filler can be dissolved if you don’t love the result.

A good fit if…

  • You’ve lost volume or want more definition
  • You want an immediate, adjustable result
  • You want something reversible

Maybe not for you if…

  • You have an active skin infection in the area
  • You’re prone to severe bruising and can’t plan downtime
  • You only have fine movement lines — that’s Botox

Common questions

Is filler permanent?

No. Most HA fillers last 6–18 months and can be dissolved early if needed.

Will I look overdone?

Not with a conservative injector. Ask to start with one syringe and build slowly.
